The Dominican Order (real name ‘The Order of Preachers‘), is one of many Religious Orders and Congregations in the Catholic Church. Each Order was formed for a special purpose, and our purpose is PREACHING. By this we mean any way of communicating the Word of God to people at large. This includes sermons, lectures, publications, working in parishes as well as among groups of people not connected to parishes, and using the print media as well as radio and television. We don’t only target Catholics, but the whole of society.

The Order has many branches, and members may be priests, nuns, sisters and lay people. Each branch of the Order is autonomous, and controls its own way of life. This website belongs to one of these branches, the Dominican Friars of Southern Africa. We are priests and brothers who have dedicated our lives to this purpose, the building up of the Kingdom of God among the people of our part of the world. We welcome young men from Southern Africa who seek to join us and work with us.
